VERDEX CONSTRUCTION RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS INDUSTRY AWARD FOR 1000 NORTH RESTAURANT

For the second consecutive year, West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction has been named a recipient of the prestigious Eagle Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Southeast Florida Chapter at its 2018 Excellence in Construction Awards. The Eagle Award, given to best-in-class projects, was presented to Verdex for their high-quality craftsmanship of interiors and finishes their team built for the 1000 North restaurant/club project in Jupiter. The award from the local chapter now allows the project to be considered for a national ABC award.

1000 North is a new-build, 9,860 sq. ft. restaurant/club with a high-grade commercial kitchen, expansive wood bar, wine room, cigar room, outdoor gazebo bar and first-floor restaurant in addition to a second-floor, members-only lounge. The project included 10 different species of wood with curved beams and slats, four different types of stone, mirrored stainless steel columns and soffits and three types of leather-wrapped panels. The mix of procuring and meticulously installing such high-end finishes required extensive coordination and problem-solving among the Verdex team and project stakeholders. The project was completed on-time and on-budget for 1000 North LLC investor group.

“This was truly a remarkable project requiring the highest level of craftsmanship and experience for which Verdex excels,” said Rex Kirby, President of Verdex Construction. “It’s a significant example of what we mean when we say we’re ‘Building Something Better’.”

1000 North, located on the Loxahatchee River just north of Burt Reynolds Park on U.S. 1, opened in February 2018 after eight and a half months of construction. As General Contractor, Verdex held frequent on-site meetings with designers, engineers and the ownership team to assure timely delivery and quality of materials and craftsmanship on all aspects of the project.

“With the amount of building going on in Florida, this year’s competition was tight,” said Peter Dyga, President and CEO of ABC’s Florida East Coast Chapter. “It’s great to see construction professionals honored for their work and commitment to quality and safety and working to help build Florida.”

Other Verdex Construction projects throughout South Florida include the Canopy Hotel in Downtown West Palm Beach; Deerfield Station, 226 apartment units with a retail outparcel in Deerfield Beach; and the Turnpike Business Park, a light industrial office/warehouse facility project in suburban West Palm Beach.
